Come Home for My People Thanks
Celebrate the season of gratitude and give back with us. My People Thanks is our annual community gathering that supports young people in our Community Housing Assistance Program (CHAP). Many CHAP youth live on just $50 a week. Your presence and gifts help ensure they are fed and supported all year long.
Why This Night Matters
|
My People Thanks is more than an event—it’s a tradition rooted in love, resilience, and belonging. What started in 2006 as a simple Thanksgiving dinner for youth in our Community Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) has grown into a cherished community homecoming.
For many of these young people, the holidays can be a time of isolation. Separated from traditional family connections, they often faced Thanksgiving alone. My People Thanks created a space where they could feel valued, supported, and celebrated. Over the years, this gathering has become a symbol of what community looks like when it stands together. This year, as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of My People Clinical Services, we’re honoring two decades of service and community. It’s a time to reflect on the past, reconnect with one another, and recommit to the future. Once My People, always My People. |

Your Impact
When you join us at My People Thanks, you’re doing more than attending a celebration—you’re directly changing lives. Our CHAP youth live on just $50 a week, often stretching every dollar to cover food, transportation, and basic needs. Your support ensures they won’t have to choose between paying for groceries and other essentials.
Every donation and every act of generosity at this event go directly toward feeding our young people, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. With your help, we can ensure that 21 CHAP participants have stability, nourishment, and hope week after week.
By giving back, you become part of a powerful circle of care. Together, we can make sure that these young adults don’t just survive—they thrive.

About CHAP
The Community Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) is part of My People’s broader Supportive Housing Program for young adults ages 18–25 who are transitioning into independent living. Many of these youth are involved with the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (DMHAS) and face the challenge of building their lives without traditional family support.
CHAP offers more than just a place to live. Through stand-alone apartments and group home settings, the program provides young adults with consistent coaching, teaching, and adult leadership. The goal is to equip each participant with the skills necessary to thrive as independent, successful adults.
Participants receive guidance in:
